H-U-P views the last 3 running lines from a Horizontal Plane and PACE TREND views the last 3 running lines from a Vertical Plane. Let us explain further what we do and why You As A Player Need To Subscribe To Our Site. WHAT IS H-U-P ? – the term H-U-P stands for Hard Used Points and it uses a Rating Scale from 0 to 40 (the higher the number the better) to clearly show you what each section of the race demanded and what the horse being rated gave in response to that demand. It was researched and developed from Tarmel’s Original S-A-F Ratings System based on the Strength Rating Relativity theory of HORIZONTAL PACE POWER. We rate each horse’s last 3 races with the rating on the left representing what the race called for in running power at that specific call and the rating on the right representing what the horse gave in running power at that specific call. For example 25:20 would mean that the race called for 25 points at that call and the horse gave 20 points at that call. So he was 5 points off the leader at that particular call. This is what our H-U-P running line looks like: Downtown Hottie 65 f AQU 1M id 0 MSW 25:20 16:18 20:17 22:18 83:73 20:8 18:2 (-2.6) It tells you this horse ran 65 days ago on a fast track at Aqueduct at the distance of 1 mile on the Inner Dirt Surface at the same class level as today (the 0 means no drop nor rise in class) in a Maiden Special Weight. The first quarter of the race asked for 25 and this horse gave 20. The second quarter of the race asked for 16 and this horse gave 18. The third quarter asked for 20 and this horse gave 17 and the fourth quarter asked for 22 and this horse gave 18. The total points demand of the race was 83 and this horse gave 73. The average of the race points comes to 20.8 and the horse’s average points comes to 18.2. There is a -2.6 in average points from what was asked to what was given. OK NOW LET ME TELL YOU A FAVORITE TRICK OF MINE FOR PICKING THE WINNER OF A ROUTE RACE WITH H-U-P (remember I’ve been using these ratings for 30 years so I do know how to ride the roller coaster of Thoroughbred Racing and come out On Top using H-U-P) *In a dirt route I like to add what the race called for + what the horse gave in the last 2 quarters of the last race and see who shapes up as the Strongest Horse. | WHAT IS PACE TREND ? is a Rating System whose figures are based on Tarmel’s Unique Theory of Vertical Pace Power. It gives you a two figure rating at the most important part of the race showing you the Early Speed – Late Speed Relationship in a totally different way that works Great in Sprints. runners have a shift in balance either Strong Early or Strong Late and these extremes are what we runners have a shift in balance either Strong Early or Strong Late and these extremes are what we are looking for. are looking for. This is what our PACE TREND running line looks like: Moon Ala Mode 21 f BEL it 6F 0 8 19 27 11 The line tells you this horse ran 21 days ago on a firm track at Belmont on the inner turf at 6 furlongs. The 0 denotes that it was at the same class level as today. The next number you see tells you how strong the horse ran up to the ½ mile pole. In this case it was 8. The next number 19 tells you how strong the horse ran from the half mile call to the 6 furlong call which in this case is 19. The next number is the total of the 2 which is 27 and the last number tells you if there was forward motion from the ½ mile call to the 6 furlong call. In this case it was 11.
