Not super strong contenders in here, looks like a weak field. Got 4 first time starters, but 5
rateable horses(more than half the field, so can take a shot here) The 2 contenders are
Well Meant(11.3 to 1) and Coronation Day(2.3 to 1). Price dictates what we do. Lets play
Well Meant at better than 11 to 1 odds for Win and Place because of the nice odds.
Coronation Day at 2.3 to 1 is not so attractive for win/place as is not the strongest
contender, rather an equal to our other horse, but will certainly not disregard and will box
our 2 horses in an exacta.
This was a nice score! Well Meant wins at $24.60 and $9.00 place. Coronation Day rolls in
for second giving us a $101.50 exacta. If we were really pressing, I guess we could have
had the $967 triple as Karakorum On Black gets third. Might have even used him as the
second horse under are other 2 contenders. It again is imperative that you get the feel of
the HUP Figs. It might not be like what you have been used to in the past. You dont want
what has been used in the past, or want what every one else is using, as that just causes
you to be playing short priced horses like everyone else. Again, this takes time. What I
present, works for me and is only one way of looking at the data. There are other angles in
these ratings that I have not mentioned. Study all the different variables presented, you
might find some other interesting scenarios.
